Base and Eye Colors
That's right, this is a post solely for base and eye colors.
Now, we want to keep base colors moderately realistic and as close to AWDs as possible, but we also want some variation in them as well. Same with eye colors. This means kind of brownish, creamish, tannish tones with perhaps some red ones in there as well. Due to the large amount of area in this subject, we are opening this to people to give their input in. Please, even if you aren't an artist, feel free to mess around with eye and base colors on the unofficial lines drawn by our lovely RoRo. Post your edits with colors perhaps included below. Many thanks!

Maybe there could be some more premium eye colors that include bi-colors (like blue with yellow around the pupil or something like that) Of course that might not be the most visible when it comes to the lineart so it wouldn't work out well. [EDIT] (just checked the eye chart and the last one had what I was talking about) [/EDIT]
I always like the idea of hetero-eyes as well!

Di's Proposed "Rarity" List Common/Noncustom:
- Manilla
- Gold
- Pale Gold
- Tangerine
- Peach
- Sandstone
- Bronze
- Blonde
- Brown
Custom Only:
- White/Albino
- Silver
- Slate
- Grey
- Maroon
- Hershey
- Vandal
- Dark Brown
- Ocre
Please do note I have these split up 50/50 so there's 9 in each. This gives us a total of 18 base colors. If you feel that some should be another availability, please let me know! If one color is too similar to another also let me know. Artists, if you need particular color codes for this don't hesitate to PM me.

Please keep the PSD/XCF with all layers in tact. If Direct decides to go with Dynamic Images, I will need all of this separate:
-Sketch(if you choose to keep it, it's not exactly necessary)
-Lines
-Base Colors
-Markings
-Shading
-Equipment(if it is decided to add 'equipment' to the image itself)
The good thing, to make it easier on the artist, you can put everything in 1 file. Just use layers (and make invisible those that you do not need to be visible for your exporting of a png file to show others)...
If I don't make sense, I do apologize, just ask for clarification. And this is only if Direct chooses Dynamic Images.

I do have all the .PSD files of both color things. I have the color codes stored in my computer in a word document. If you want I can post a list of all the hex code colors for the bases in the staff section of the site.
However, that is as far as I can go. I did this so the artists could focus on the other things you listed such as shading, markings, (although I have plans to experiment with those as well...epic half artist half adminly Di), and I can place them all in a PSD file there as well, I have no issues with that. I can only color, as the final lining of the sketch would be up to RoRo.
Just let me know what you need with the base colors and I shall provide it. :3

I know that colors and everything are in their early stages, but what about genetics? Being new and all I started searching the forum for information on this, and found very little. I was wondering if the AWDs would have a genetic makeup, or if the coloring of the offspring would be random? |

At the moment genetics are at a minimal stage, as we progress and open genetics will continually become more complex.

So beautiful~ I am a sucker for animals with black fur, so I would love to see a black base. ^^ But I am no good at the magic photo editing. ;-; Some color name ideas for the ones with question mark: .. Vandal: Umber, Porter, Espresso, .. Maroon: Bixbite, Cinnabar, Blush, Blossom, Cherry, Coral .. Slate: Granite, Ash, Ashen, Or just name ideas in general: .. Pale Yellow Hues: Ale, Buttercream .. Some Kind of Brown: Sable, Tiramisu, Koa, Kona .. Some Kind of Grey: Shale .. Some Kind of White/Silver: Hoarfrost, Frost, Trillium .. The colors are beautiful,but can you mix the colors to get different colors or if you mix colors you get one of the colors from the parents and not a different one from the parents?
