Let's all try not to rig every idea we have from LioDen, or other sims for that matter. I know we're not trying, but it seems all of us are unconsciously creating our ideas and or basing our ideas off a site exactly like LioDen, it just seems that because survival sims are rarer, we automatically assume that any other similar site would be.. well, similar,((Haha, see what I did there?)) but it seems to be to an overextent. So I just wanted to say, we should all try to think of ideas that would make LycaonWild it's own site, unconditionally distinct from all other sims in the ranks. We want to promise our future members something unique, but more than that, we want to bring forth such a sim that we promise of!
So, let's think outside the box, let's get some ideas in here that have never been seen before in a sim! Let us make LycaonWild not just another animal sim, but THE animal sim. Let's make a sim that the other sims will look up to, one that will make other sim-makers go "Why didn't I think of that?"! So, I want to hear you guys, I trust you guys to come up with some really awesome ideas, whether they're possible or not, even ideas that don't go well with actual coding possibilities could spark a match in someone else's mind.
Now, what I want you all to do is spam this thread with a many interesting ideas as possible that you think would make our site the best it could be!

I want my wilddog to be able to wear a hat. Hahah
Maybe there could be some caves somewhere that the wilddogs could find and go exploring in, and people could collect interesting minerals and rocks that could be used to create other valuable items, like maybe an amulet to increase protection for your pups or something. Or the ability to go digging.
Pups and other wilddogs have unique personalities that you can write yourself or the game generates for you
Parents can teach their pups skills at a certain earlier age- maybe they could use some energy for both to spar with the pups, teach them how to hunt small mammals, stalk, or the like. Or you could have two or more pups play against each other and see which is on top or more "dominant", and you can choose 1 pup per litter to stay in your pack, or let them all leave and earn some money by allowing that (thus there is an incentive to let your pups go, but also to have the best ones stay)
Minigames- maybe "spot the differences", a jigsaw, a game involving pups trying to catch as many bugs as they can, etc.
You can send some male wilddogs from your pack to go explore for a few days and report back with anything interesting
Wilddogs can be injured in fights or hunting- like a broken leg or something. There are certain items you can buy and combine to increase the chance of the wound healing, and if it doesnt you can choose to allow it to stay or chase it off, either way it might still die but it would still be no help to the pack.
You can ally as well as become enemies with other packs. Both have their benefits in one way or another. It could be like Civ where you have the ability to declare a friendship for a period of time in exchange for items and currency, and then you can travel through other pack territory. What if this game did have Civ influence, where some of the dogs were hunters, some were scouts, etc. and there was a board like that? So you could choose to attack enemy scouts and you would earn boosts from your wilddogs, but also risk revenge against your own.
And other packs can conquer yours (but we have to find a way to make this fair) and if they do, one or two wilddogs of your pack escapes and has starts over elsewhere.
Maybe you can earn or buy a perk where you can control two packs- your original, and then also a new pack one of your wilddogs start later on.
Yay random ideas!
Random events, like a sudden rain that increases danger for your pups if you're near a river.. Or drought which decreases the chance of finding food.. Or a rainstorm which increases the chance of food. Maybe a hawk comes by and tries to take your pups and you have to fight it off. etc.
If you allow a bird to eat a bit of the food you manage to catch every once in a while, that bird will become your "pack friend" and bring special treats back to you. Of course this means less food for your own pack, so it's a trade-off.
You can choose to either give stats in a certain way (leaned more towards strength or speed or even) which will make certain wilddogs better than certain activities than others, or you can choose to put wilddogs in a certain class which will give them perks for that area. Ex. scouts would be quicker, guardians would have more strength, hunters probably more stamina.
When you send wilddogs out to do things, such as guard or hunt or scout, you can go to a feed and watch what they've done or seen recently while they are away. You can also send more than 1 to one place, which increased chance of finding something interesting.
The wilddog pack brings back 1 prey that feeds a decent amount, instead of a bunch of carcasses at once.

Here is the Civ 5 idea more fleshed out. I thought this would be an interesting idea, though I doubt it would actually be possible. -- Civ 5 idea-
You will have a certain # of territory when starting out, with 1 hunting space available. There will be certain "tiles" with different resources like this: - hunting - caves - dirt (digging) - "home" base
And also different types of hunting tiles- - Jungle - Waterhole - Savannah etc.
occasionally predators will move onto your territory and make their way towards your home base. Your guardian wild dogs will fight them off, though the group may need backup if the predator(s) are too strong. There is a chance your wilddog will die or become injured during fights.
There will be different classes for your wild dogs- - Scout - Hunter - Guardian etc.
You can choose to either have 1 wild dog per class, or you can combine multiple into 1 for more precision and a higher successful rate. Wild dogs lose energy upon hunting, exploring different tiles, and fighting off enemies. If your wild dog loses all of its energy it will become extremely fatigued and will "drop out" of the group in order to rest, and will not be available until energy replenishes.
Wild dogs earn extra stats from fighting off these predators.
NOTE: There can be many different maps to choose from when signing up so there are enough territory spaces, but this may become an issue if we use some kind of actual map.
Neighboring packs will also have their territory and will try to fight to take away your territory spaces so they may gain them. If their scouts/etc make it to your base, they will kill your pups and attempt to take over your territory.
You can gain resources by sending scouts/explorers to different tile spaces, such as caves. You can specify what you want the action of each "group" to be: explore/look for resources, hunt, camp out/guard, etc.
This system will provide for a challenging strategy combat system that would be very unique to the sim-verse. Of course it would be difficult, and I do not know if it would be possible because of the map/finite number of territory spaces. Maybe you have a finite number you can capture at once, and must pay to upgrade the number and capture new tiles after your originals? So we could have a cap on territory and also make the more meaningful spaces (caves and other ones where you can explore for expensive resources) more expensive.
In order to combat against newbie vs level 40 professional, we could have different level areas (which i think is common) because otherwise the pros will just be beating the newbies and taking all their land away.

I have an idea for the SIM! Well... I guess a handful of jumbly ideas that aren't very refined.
So AWDs are endangered, right? They are endangered due to habitat loss and poaching.
AWDs in the wild have HUGE territories, and a lot of times a pack's territory will run into farm land. Farmers therefore kill the dogs to protect their livestock.
Also, AWDs are notoriously killed by lions and spotted hyenas, but they have a high chance of outrunning them due to their smaller size.
I was thinking you could incorporate this idea by having territory spaces with farm land, and if you went to explore there, it would ask "Do you want to take this chance?" and you answer yes or no, and you have a 50/50 chance (this could also be based on stats, etc.) of having an injury or death in your pack. Same thing, like territory labeled as "lion territory" or "spotted hyena territory".
You could also encounter a human poacher NPC who is trying to kill a pack member (or you)that you must defend your pack against.
A goal of the game may be to better the population of the AWD species?
" it is a cursorial hunter, meaning that it pursues its prey in a long, open chase. Nearly 80% of all wild dog hunts end in a kill; for comparison, the success rate of lions, often viewed as ultimate predators, is only 30%." - Wikipedia. This is funny...silly lions!

Map of Cameroon locating English-speaking regions
A Catholic priest who was kidnapped by separatists last weekend in Cameroon's troubled anglophone region has been released, his diocese said on Thursday.
"After three days' captivity, we are pleased to announce that our brother, priest, Monsignor Julius Agbortoko, was released without any ransom being paid," the diocese of Mamfe said in a statement.
Agbortoko was seized on Sunday by "youths who identified themselves as separatist fighters", it had said on Monday.
The kidnappers were demanding a ransom of more than 20 million CFA francs ($36,000, 31,000 euros), it said.
Western Cameroon is in the grip of a nearly four-old conflict launched by separatists who have declared an independent state in the predominantly francophone country.
More than 3,500 people have been killed and over 700,000 have fled their homes.
Rights groups says abuses have been committed by both separatists and the armed forces.
The militants frequently carry out abductions, typically releasing the victim in exchange for a ransom. The church statement did not explain why Agbortoko had been freed without a payment having been made.
The presence of the anglophone regions in Cameroon derives from the colonial era.
The former German possession of Cameroon was partitioned after World War I between Britain and France.
In 1961, part of the British territory, the Southern Cameroons, joined Cameroon after it gained independence from France.
Anglophones have repeatedly complained about perceived discrimination at the hands of the francophone majority.
Demands for reform and local autonomy were rejected by Cameroon's veteran president, Paul Biya, culminating in the separatists' declaration of independence on August 1 2017.

The pair beamed for the audience as they hugged one another and took in the incredible atmosphere.
'Just had best time on stage, felt great,' Cher tweeted shortly after the show.
Balmain said it was celebrating the best in food, music and fashion within the pop-up village replete with stands - in western Paris´ Jean-Bouin stadium - more used to hosting rugby matches than spandex suits.

Some 10,000 tickets were made available for the general public provided they made a charity donation.
The appearance comes after Cher cheekily replied to a tweet that compared her to pop star Dua Lipa, who is nearly half a century younger than she is.
A fan on Twitter wrote: 'Dua Lipa, the Cher of our generation,' over a clip of Dua bearing a distinct physical resemblance to the older pop act.
In response to the remark, Cher, who celebrated her 76th birthday in May, wrote: 'How many yrs are in a generation' with a thinking emoji.
This summer it emerged Cher had collaborated on her own fashion line with Versace, which has of course been named Chersace.

Aline Horst was completely blind-sighted by her stage-three cancer diagnosis after doing her best to live a healthy life A 39-year-old pre-school teacher will take a 'one-way trip' to Mexico for cancer treatment after her body rejected chemotherapy and doctors 'sent her home to die'. Aline Horst was completely blind-sided by her stage-three cancer diagnosis after doing her best to live a healthy life. The teacher told FEMAIL she never smoked, always kept in shape and avoided all drugs including pain killers in an attempt to keep as well as possible. In August 2020 Aline went to her doctor complaining of stomach cramps, only to be told she was 'probably constipated'. She asked her doctor for a full blood-test to be safe but ended up taking herself to the emergency department before she could see her GP again about the results. 'I now know those results, which were sitting on her desk for days, showed I had high tumour markers,' she said. At the hospital doctors found a five centimetre growth in her large intestine, which they removed immediately. Aline has been in and out of hospital for 18 months and admits she never expected to get cancer because she lived such a healthy life She is pictured here with her mum who has been one of her main supports through her cancer journey 'It took so long for answers, I asked what it was and they wouldn't answer until the labs confirmed it was cancer. 'My friends and family already knew but I was in shock when they told me,' she said. Doctors immediately started the teacher on chemotherapy but it made Aline 'too sick'. 'I dropped a lot of weight and after two rounds I only weighed 38 kilos, I was so sick,' she said. RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 Next Vegan mum-of-four, 35, who had regular health checks is... 'I was put in hospital for a few weeks and they told me they could keep doing chemo until I weighed 30 kilos but that didn't seem safe to me,' she said. 'From the first moment I heard chemotherapy I had this gut feeling it wouldn't work for me. I am already sensitive to drugs and I was right.' Aline became very sick when she was going through chemotherapy and decided not to continue with treatment, pictured with a nurse Aline dropped down to 38 kilos during chemo treatment and feared it would kill her before the cancer had a chance to In May, 2021, a scan revealed the cancer had spread to the peritoneum, an area which is very difficult to treat. She was then offered a place in an immunotherapy trial which she believed would work. Over the next seven months the trial had mixed results, with some tumours shrinking and others growing. But in February 2022 doctors found cancer had spread into her stomach, pancreas and liver which prompted them to stop the immunotherapy treatment. 'That's when they sent me home to die,' she said.
